Terrains So Wild And Barbarous

Terrains So Wild And Barbarous

from $30.00

“…not again in all the world’s turning will there be terrains so wild and barbarous to try whether the stuff of creation may be shaped to man’s will or whether his own heart is not another kind of clay.” – Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

Cheesy quote, but experiencing the searing heat miles away from any visible sign of civilization or humanity in this primeval desert made me feel like an anachronism from one of my favorite books. Either that or I was slightly delusional in the 128° heat. Regardless, these salt polygons are some of the most ethereal structures I've encountered. Death Valley National Park, California.
