I don’t usually shoot a ton in the mid-day, but the persistent cloud cover here gave a soft, even light that complemented the cool tones perfectly. Half an hour after I shot this, the sky opened up, and that boring, splotchy, overhead light came through, effectively ending my outing. I can’t imagine there are any through-hikers out there now, but the Appalachian Trail skirts the high crests of these ridges. February 2021.
